ABSTRACT
Cooperative learning is the use of small groups in teaching that makes
students work together to maximize learning in a group. This learning is
combined with the jigsaw type that can help students develop understanding and
attitudes in accordance with real life through a collaboration with the aim of
increasing group responsibility and student motivation. The subjects of this study
were SMB students from PAUD to SMP and the object of this research was the
jigsaw type of cooperative learning model. The purpose of this study was to
increase students’ motivation to Buddha Giri Metta Virya Sunday school Jepara.
This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out through
two cycles and four stages, namely Planning, Implementation, Observation, and
Reflection. This study uses non-test techniques and data collection instruments in
the form of observations, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The
results showed that the effectiveness of the jigsaw cooperative learning model
could increase students’ motivation to SMB, based on the results of the first cycle
of data acquisition that student motivation was 33% and the results of teacher
observation questionnaires 55%, while in the second cycle there was an increase
in student motivation of 38% and teacher observation 56%. It was concluded that
the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model could increase students’ motivation to
Buddha Giri Metta Virya Sunday school.
