ABSTRACT
The problem raised in this study is that the influence of self-concept and
perceptions of the teacher’s role on the discipline attitude of class XI and XII
students at SMA Dharma Putra Tangerang on the subject of Buddhist Education is
not known. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-concept and
students’ perceptions of the teacher’s role on the discipline attitudes of class XI and
XII students at SMA Dharma Putra Tangerang on the subject of Buddhist
Education.
This study uses a quantitative approach using an ex post facto design. The
sampling technique or subject used is stratified cluster random sampling.
Respondents of this study were students of class XI and XII at SMA Dharma Putra
totaling 137. Data were collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for
validity and reliability. The data collected before being analyzed using multiple
regression must meet several prerequisite tests including normality test, linearity
test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, autocorrelation test. Based on
the results of the prerequisite test, it was concluded that the data had met the
requirements so that data analysis was carried out using multiple regression
analysis.
The results of research data analysis using SPSS version 20.0 for windows
evaluation version there is an influence of self-concept and student perceptions of
the teacher’s role on the discipline attitude of class XI and XII students at SMA
Dharma Putra Tangerang in the subject of Buddhist Education with an Fcount of
98,063 and a value of 98.063 significance probability of 0.000. The multiple linear
regression equation obtained is Y= 1.515+0.390X1+0.612X2. The contribution
given by the variable of self-concept and students’ perceptions of the teacher’s role
on student discipline is 58.4%. The results of the partial regression analysis are:
(1) there is an influence of self-concept on students’ discipline if the variable
perception of students about the teacher’s role is controlled with a tcount of 4.569
and a significance probability value of 0.000; (2) there is an effect of students’
perceptions of the teacher’s role on students’ disciplined attitudes if the self-concept
variable is controlled with a tcount of 9.903 and a significance probability value of
0.000.
