ABSTRACT

The purpose of education in general seeks to prepare learners to meet
current educational goals and needs, thus it is necessary to design an educational
system that can support the development of learners potential. One of the efforts
made in order to develop learners potential including developing the skills of
metacognitive, similar concept taught by Buddha in iddhipādasaṃyutta that can
be use as a basis for both to finish and attempts in the completion of the task. The
purpose of this study is to elaborate the relevance between iddhipādasaṃyutta
with metacognitive theory. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive
literary studies methods, Based on research results there is relevance between the
theory of metacognitive with iddhipādasaṃyutta concept. The relevance of
metacognitive with iddhipādasaṃyutta concepts proven by similarities
characteristics that shows by each indicators both in the theory of metacognitive
or iddhipādasaṃyutta concepts are mutually support one and each others in term
of developing metacognitive comperhention on learners. The results of this study
are intended teacher to encourage learners to be able to develop metacognitive
skill. For learners this results can be used to grow awareness of the importance of
metacognitive skill.
