ABSTRACT

The problem raised in this competency research is the lack of understanding
of the implementation of 21st century learning in the subject of Buddhist
Education. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of 21st
century learning competencies in Buddhist Education Subjects at SMK Ariya Metta.
This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach.
Informants in this study were Buddhist education educators and students of SMK
Ariya Metta. The data collection technique used is non-test by means of
observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument was in the
form of observation and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique uses
the Miles and Hurberman model.
The results of this study are that in the learning process, educators carry
out (a) the preparation stage: make lesson plans and prepare learning materials;
(b) implementation stage: learning is done online due to the Covid-19 pandemic
and students learn from home; (c) learning media: cellphone, laptop, zoom,
whatsapp group, gmeet, powerpoint along with learning resources such as
textbooks, and youtube; (d) learning methods; lectures, discussions; (e)
evaluation: given assignments on student worksheets and graded. The
implementation of 21st century learning competencies can be seen from the
students’ critical thinking in analyzing problems and expressing the ideas
obtained. Communication is done by summarizing and then conveying the
conclusions in front of the class. Collaborate truly in working together to complete the task.The creativity shown by students in the skills of combining ideas
in the form of pictures.
